Fire Hydrant Systems and Ring Network Project

Hydrant ring line, critical hydrant calculation, valve plan and water supply project for factories, industrial facilities and large campuses.

Technical System Scope

Design, calculation and application details for Hydrant System

In hydrant project design, the facility's campus plan, roads accessible to fire trucks, ring line route, valve isolation points and water supply are examined on the same outdoor plan. The layout decision requires site access and hydraulic calculations together.

01 / SYSTEM

hydrant placement

Intra-facility roads, fire truck approach, response distances and the external environment of the protected buildings are examined together. Hydrants are positioned in accordance with maintenance, traffic and access conditions.

02 / SYSTEM

Ring lines and branches

Main and secondary ring connections, zoning valves, alternative supply directions, blind lines, valve rooms and pipe routes in the field are planned.

03 / SYSTEM

Hydraulic critical point

The hydrant scenario operating simultaneously in the system, desired net flow, critical outlet pressure, pipe friction, local losses and elevation difference are calculated together.

04 / SYSTEM

Pipe and armature selection

Steel, ductile iron and HDPE pipe options are evaluated by pressure class, embedment depth, fasteners, anchorage, corrosion and repair access.

05 / SYSTEM

Pump and tank connection

The distance of the hydrant from the pump, the main collector, tank capacity, water reserve and possible simultaneous consumption of other systems are checked.

06 / SYSTEM

Testing and field acceptance

Hydrant flow test, critical manometer points, labeling of valves, comparison of hydraulic calculation and field measurement, and as-built drawings are planned.

Project Documents

Calculation, equipment and scope of delivery

Within the scope of the study on the hydrant system, the connection diagram of the ring lines, important valve and hydrant points, pipe route, elevation and line length information and critical water demand calculation assumptions are reported together. Site access is also controlled.

  • Testing and field acceptance

Depending on the type of project, quantity surveying, technical specifications, test procedure and as-built drawings are also included in the scope of work.

Standardization and Security

Technical conditions and important notices

EN/NFPA criteria regarding the fire risk of the facility, its intended use and the BYKHY to be applied are determined at the beginning of the design. No single fixed hydrant flow rate or pressure is correct for all facilities.

The current BYKHY, relevant product and system standards, manufacturer conformity certificates and authorized administration/fire department opinions are verified at the beginning of the design. Fixed flow/pressure/capacity values are not declared without project data.

Discovery inputs and engineering deliverables

In the Fire Hydrant Systems study, the following information can be shared at the first meeting. Field detection or additional calculation requirements for missing data are determined separately. Preparation of documents does not automatically guarantee acceptance by the relevant institution or a particular test result.

Frequently asked questions

How to prepare a quote for Fire Hydrant Systems?

The campus plan and outdoor access are shared along with the facility's district, usage type and desired service. Account, project, application and test items are separated in the written scope.

How will the hydrant network be affected if campus routes change?

When there is a new factory building, road change or intra-parcel line revision, the fire department approach, hydrant access and continuity of the ring line are re-evaluated. Matching of existing valve chambers with the project plan is checked.

What documents are submitted?

Hydrant and isolation valve plan, critical point calculation, equipment list and other documents included in the scope of work are delivered. The file format and revision scope are determined at the outset.

Is the same hydrant account used in all campuses?

No. Hydrant placement and hydraulic calculation depends on the location of the buildings to be protected, access roads, water source and relevant design conditions. Calculation results of another campus cannot be used verbatim.

Are implementation and control the same scope?

Project planning, assembly, field inspection and testing tasks are defined separately. The proposal states which party is responsible for which work.

From which regions do you receive requests for exploration?

Requests from Çorlu, Ergene, Kapaklı and Tekirdağ are evaluated from our Çerkezköy center. The time and conditions of the field visit are decided separately.
