Fire Pump and Pump House

Our fire pump service considers the water demand of the system and the pump room layout together. MKA Engineering; Provides project and technical consultancy for duty point evaluation, pump/tank connections, equipment layout and test setup. This page is not an independent product price catalogue.

Design Approach

Pump selection is based on the most critical hydraulic circuit of the system.

In the design of the fire pump room, the fire water requirement of the facility to be protected, storage arrangement, elevation differences, pipe routes and system losses are considered together. It is not enough for the pump capacity to appear appropriate on the catalogue; The task point needs to be compared with the system need and project criteria.

01 / HYDRAULIC

Flow rate, pressure and duty point

Pump duty point, system curve and critical pressures are evaluated in design scenarios based on hydrant, sprinkler and fire cabinet requirements.

02 / EQUIPMENT

Electric, diesel and jockey pump

Pump group components, control panels, appropriate equipment and backup order when necessary are determined according to the project conditions and the selected standard.

03 / PLUMBING

Suction, discharge and test lines

Water tank connection, valve and check valve placement, measurement and test connections, loss-producing elements and service access are designed.

04 / FIELD

Settlement, ventilation and operation

The ventilation-exhaust requirements of pump bases, maintenance spaces, drainage, power supply and diesel equipment are coordinated under application conditions.

Project Process

The technical sequence we follow in the fire pump room.

The same calculation-discipline approach is used in new installations and existing pump room improvements.

01

Determination of need

Fire scenarios, demand flow rate, critical pressure, water supply and available equipment information are collected.

02

Hydraulic evaluation

Suction conditions, system losses, elevation differences and performance characteristics of the selected pumps are compared.

03

Layout and equipment list

The pump group, collector and connections, control-measurement equipment, test line, maintenance and access arrangements are defined.

04

Application and testing coordination

Project documents regarding specifications, quantity surveying, assembly controls and acceptance tests are prepared.

Project Start

Information requested for initial review

The project scope can be evaluated more accurately when existing data is shared.

  • Purpose of use of areas to be protected, fire water design criteria
  • Required flow rate and pressure or current hydraulic calculation report
  • Geometry of the water tank, connection levels and existing piping
  • Pump curves, panel information and available layouts
  • Pump room dimensions, energy and drainage infrastructure
Standards and Compliance

Selection of technical references

Design criteria are determined by taking into account the specification and applicability of the project, especially BYKHY and relevant TS EN standards. Product approvals such as UL/FM are evaluated only by verifying the relevant product and certification scope.

Each pump room; The project should be designed separately according to the required flow rate, pressure, equipment certificates and field conditions.

Full Scope of Fire Engineering

Fire Pump Room: Connection, Equipment and Installation Scope

The pump set is not only defined by flow rate and pressure value. Water source, suction conditions, safety valves, test line, control panel, diesel fuel and ventilation design should be solved together.

01 / TECHNICAL SCOPE

Electric main fire pump

System design flow-pressure duty point, performance curve, engine power, supply continuity, pump type and control panel integration.

02 / TECHNICAL SCOPE

Diesel main fire pump

Diesel engine drive, control, starter battery, maintenance area, cooling, exhaust and manufacturer approved fuel tank/line layout.

03 / TECHNICAL SCOPE

Jockey pressure protection pump

Capacity, pressure adjustment and control scenario of the jockey pump, which prevents unnecessary operation of the main pumps in case of normal small leaks and pressure drops.

04 / TECHNICAL SCOPE

Suction line and anti-cavitation

Water tank and pump center elevation, suction collector, straight pipe requirement, valve armature loss, NPSH and anti-vortex placement.

05 / TECHNICAL SCOPE

Discharge collector and valve group

Rising stem/slide or appropriate butterfly valve, check valve, pressure gauge, test/manometer connection and measurement equipment.

06 / TECHNICAL SCOPE

Test line and measurement

Flow meter, test header, safe water return or discharge; flow-pressure performance curve, closed valve pressure and test stations.

07 / TECHNICAL SCOPE

Relief and pressure safety

Relief valve suitable for system limits, pressure detection, expansion effects and control of equipment pressure class with maximum values.

08 / TECHNICAL SCOPE

Diesel room ventilation and exhaust

Engine combustion air, radiator heat, exhaust route, air inlet-outlet vents and related fuel fire risks are evaluated according to the manufacturer's manual.

09 / TECHNICAL SCOPE

Testing, certification and commissioning

Requested UL/FM or other product approvals are compared against the specification; Automatic start, backup energy, alarm and performance test reports are delivered.

Frequently asked questions

How to prepare a quote for Fire Pump and Pump House?

The hydraulic system request and current account report are shared along with the facility's district, usage type and requested service. Account, project, application and test items are separated in the written scope.

Will existing drawings be sufficient?

The drawings are compared with the field. If there are revisions, changes in use, and missing equipment information, their impact on the account or project is examined.

What documents are submitted?

Pump duty point evaluation, suction-discharge and test layout diagram and other documents included in the scope of work are delivered. The file format and revision scope are determined at the outset.

Is fixed capacity used for each facility?

No. Usage, system structure and field data are different. Numerical values cannot be applied to all facilities without verifying the relevant calculation and method.

Are implementation and control the same scope?

Project planning, assembly, field inspection and testing tasks are defined separately. The proposal states which party is responsible for which work.

From which regions do you receive requests for exploration?

Requests from Çorlu, Ergene, Kapaklı and Tekirdağ are evaluated from our Çerkezköy center. The time and conditions of the field visit are decided separately.
