Fire Water Tank and Pump Supply Project

Reinforced concrete and panel fire water reservoir, usable water volume, pump suction line, level indicator, motorized filling valve and overflow safety.

Technical System Scope

Design, calculation and application details for Fire Water Tank

In the fire water tank, not only the nominal volume of the tank, but also the water reserve that can be used by the pump, suction point, level control, filling connection and maintenance access are considered together. Tank design begins with understanding the fire system and water supply relationship.

01 / SYSTEM

fire water reserve

The fire flow rates required by the protected spaces and the required working time are evaluated; It is based on the net reserve available to the pump instead of the total nominal volume.

02 / SYSTEM

Pump suction geometry

Low water level, suction speed, NPSH, vortex prevention mechanism, suction port and valve-collector placement are evaluated together.

03 / SYSTEM

Tank type and maintenance

Reinforced concrete or modular panel tank is selected according to partitioning, cleaning cover, hygiene, sealing and continuity of maintenance during operation.

04 / SYSTEM

Filling and level automation

LOW, HIGH, HIGH-HIGH contactor/level switches, indicators, open-close motorized valve, control panel and manual control scenario are described.

05 / SYSTEM

Overflow and discharge

Details of the safe overflow route, cleaning drainage, ventilation, flood risk and overfill protection are prepared.

06 / SYSTEM

Acceptance and operation

Reserve measurement, level alarm test, balancing between tanks, supply valve scenario, as-built scheme and maintenance plan are verified.

Project Documents

Calculation, equipment and scope of delivery

Project assumptions on which the required reserve is based in fire water tank operation, pump suction geometry, low-high level warnings, filling valve, overflow path, drainage and access layout are described with separate drawings and equipment lists.

  • fire water reserve
  • Pump suction geometry
  • Tank type and maintenance
  • Filling and level automation
  • Overflow and discharge
  • Acceptance and operation

Depending on the type of project, quantity surveying, technical specifications, test procedure and as-built drawings are also included in the scope of work.

Standardization and Security

Technical conditions and important notices

Whether domestic water can consume the fire reserve is the critical issue of the project safety strategy. It is not safe to just look at the tank volume without ensuring sufficient suction of the pump.

The current BYKHY, relevant product and system standards, manufacturer conformity certificates and authorized administration/fire department opinions are verified at the beginning of the design. Fixed flow/pressure/capacity values are not declared without project data.

Frequently asked questions

How to prepare a quote for Fire Water Tank?

System water demand and design scenario are shared along with the facility's district, usage type and desired service. Account, project, application and test items are separated in the written scope.

What happens if the suction or level pattern of the water tank changes?

When the compartment changes in the tank, the position of the suction port, the automation connection or the filling capacity are revised, the available reserve, suction continuity and level warning scenario are reviewed. The current drawing is matched with the equipment on site.

What documents are submitted?

Usable reserve assessment, suction, filling and level layout and other documents included in the scope of work are delivered. The file format and revision scope are determined at the outset.

Is the nominal volume of the tank the same as the usable reserve?

No. The water tank evaluation is linked to the reserve required by the fire system and the suction conditions of the pump. However, the total volume on the tank label does not give the same design result.

Are implementation and control the same scope?

Project planning, assembly, field inspection and testing tasks are defined separately. The proposal states which party is responsible for which work.

From which regions do you receive requests for exploration?

Requests from Çorlu, Ergene, Kapaklı and Tekirdağ are evaluated from our Çerkezköy center. The time and conditions of the field visit are decided separately.
