Hydronic Systems

In closed circuit heating-cooling water installations, we design the pipe diameter, circulation pump, balancing valve, expansion tank, collector and heat exchanger placements according to the system calculation.

Account and System Design

Technical approach for the Hydronic Systems Project

The aim of hydronic circuits is to carry the calculated thermal load with the correct flow rate at the design temperature difference. Critical line losses, control valve behavior and part load conditions are considered together.

01 / HYDRONIC

Flow rate and pipe dimensions

The circuit flow rate is determined from the thermal load and design temperature difference; Appropriate speed, friction loss and pipe material are selected.

02 / HYDRONIC

pump duty point

In the critical circuit, line, armature and device losses are calculated and the circulation pump suitable for the system curve is evaluated.

03 / HYDRONIC

hydraulic balancing

In order for the circuits to reach their design flow rates, balancing valves, differential pressure and control principles are determined.

04 / HYDRONIC

Expansion and safety

Expansion volume, filling pressure, air separation, dirt retention and safety components are evaluated according to project conditions.

Engineering Process

Four stages from discovery to implementation project

After the project data and existing system conditions are determined, calculations, layout, equipment and field coordination are brought together in the same technical document.

01

Thermal data

Terminal capacity, temperature difference and circuit operating pressures are taken.

02

Pipe network calculation

Flow rate and friction loss are determined for the branch and critical line.

03

pump and valve

Duty point, balance and automatic control scheme are selected.

04

Schema and quantity survey

Column diagram, equipment list, valve groups and assembly details are prepared.

Before Starting the Project

Information required for preliminary evaluation

Depending on the type of project, the following data may be shared:

  • System heating/cooling loads
  • Round trip water temperatures and location elevations
  • Terminal and equipment pressure losses connected to the pump
  • Pipe material and approximate routes
  • Valve control shape with current pump curve
Field and Operation

Things to consider in design

When choosing a closed circuit pump, the static building height is not collected directly like the friction load in normal operation. Expansion/filling pressure and differential pressure required for the pump are different calculations.

The regulations to be applied to the project, relevant TS/TS EN standards, equipment manufacturer requirements and employer technical specifications are evaluated together. Design assumptions are verified against the actual conditions of the facility.

Frequently Asked Technical Question

Which line determines the pump head?

Determines the total pipe, fixture, device and control element pressure loss of the critical circuit; The losses of all arms are not added together.

Detailed Technical Coverage

Piping, Pumping and Balancing in Hydronic Circuits

Flow rate, pipe diameter, pump duty point and control valve selection for heating and cooling water circuits are examined in a single hydraulic model.

01 / SUBSYSTEM

Flow rate and temperature difference

The required water flow rate of the circuits is determined by the heat load carried and the selected round-trip temperature difference. Terminal based flow rates are transferred to the collector and pump design.

02 / SUBSYSTEM

Pipe diameter

Main and branch diameters are calculated using pipe material, flow rate, friction loss, cavitation/noise risk and critical circuit conditions.

03 / SUBSYSTEM

Circulation pump and system curve

The flow rate and head of the pump are found from the pipe/armature/equipment pressure losses of the critical line. In closed circuit, building static height is not added directly like pump load.

04 / SUBSYSTEM

Balancing valve and differential pressure

Manual balancing, automatic flow limitation, PICV and differential pressure control options are evaluated according to terminal type and variable flow scenario.

05 / SUBSYSTEM

Expansion tank and safety

System volume, temperature change, minimum operating pressure, preliminary gas pressure, safety valve and filling line are controlled together.

06 / SUBSYSTEM

Hydraulic separator and heat exchanger

Primary/secondary separation, balance vessel, plate heat exchanger, collector and hydraulic short circuit risk are evaluated on the system diagram.

07 / SUBSYSTEM

Flushing, balancing and testing

Filter washing, line cleaning, air separation, pump curve verification, valve adjustment and transfer of measured flow rates to the table are added to the acceptance stage.

Equipment list

Circulation pumps, collector, heat exchanger, expansion tank, safety group, balancing/PICV valves, air/sediment separator and measurement equipment.

Design deliverables

Flow-pressure calculation table, critical line report, pump duty point, valve list, hydraulic system diagram and measurement/test forms.

Discovery inputs and engineering deliverables

In the Hydronic Systems study, the following information available can be shared in the first meeting. Field detection or additional calculation requirements for missing data are determined separately. Frequently asked questions

How to prepare a quote for Hydronic Systems?

Thermal load, design temperatures and circuit structure are shared along with the district of the facility, its usage style and the desired service. Account, project, application and test items are separated in the written scope.

Will existing drawings be sufficient?

The drawings are compared with the field. If there are revisions, changes in use, and missing equipment information, their impact on the account or project is examined.

What documents are submitted?

Circuit diagram and critical line calculation, pump and balance element evaluation and other documents included in the scope of work are delivered. The file format and revision scope are determined at the outset.

Is fixed capacity used for each facility?

No. Usage, system structure and field data are different. Numerical values cannot be applied to all facilities without verifying the relevant calculation and method.

Are implementation and control the same scope?

Project planning, assembly, field inspection and testing tasks are defined separately. The proposal states which party is responsible for which work.

From which regions do you receive requests for exploration?

Requests from Çorlu, Ergene, Kapaklı and Tekirdağ are evaluated from our Çerkezköy center. The time and conditions of the field visit are decided separately.
